"This is the second year that we have participated in the Aerospace Encounter. We travel quite a distance to participate in the program. It is worth the trip!!! The students enjoy the hands on experiences as well as the rapport that they develop with the docents.  Science, which in many cases is difficult for students, is made accessible for students of all abilities. "The NASA Ames Encounter is a super program and very well geared for 4th-6th graders, with 5th graders (my classes!!) being an ideal age for maximum understanding and enthusiasm! I have brought at least five groups of 5th grade students over the years and each year, not only do the students remember it as one of their most fun AND interesting study trips, but the parent chaperones comment on what a lot of concepts are taught. Parents see the value of the Encounter and kids once again realize \"Learning IS Fun\"! I am always impressed with the docents and staff who make the experience for the students, and me, most enjoyable. Through trying the experiments and completing study sheets given in the Teacher's Guide and by \"working\" in the Space Station and Mission Control, and by completing studies in Aeronautics and Space Sciences, much is learned outside class.",
